One, Carry Portable Toilets - Overnight campers must carry portable toilets if their boats or RVs are not equipped with them, unless toilets are available on the beach where they camp.
Two, Use Them - In the past, people often buried human wastes along the shoreline, but because the lake level can change as much as 60 vertical feet in one year, the holes and their contents were often inundated, allowing waste to contaminate the lake. Plan ahead and know how many people, how many nights, and determine how many toilets you will need. Teach everyone how to operate the portable toilet.
Three, Dispose of all Waste Properly - Dumping ANYTHINGΓÇôincluding solid human or pet wastesΓÇôon the shore or in the waters of Lake Powell is illegal and unsanitary. Dispose of wastes at marina pumpout or RV dump stations.
